The last competitions of the FIS-Cup should actually been held already in December, but were rescheduled to the former weekend. Michael Dreher from Oberstdorf in Germany was able to win both of the postponed races. And also the rest of the podium was occupied by Germans this time!
On this weekend stopped the Alpencup in French Chaux-Neuve, where the final competitions of this series were held. On Saturday, as well as on Sunday was the Youth Olympic Champion Anze Lanisek from Slovenia able to gain the victory. Behind him followed both times the Austrian Ulrich Wohlgenannt.
As supporting programme of the Salpausselkä-Ski festival took the FIS Youth Cup place in Lahti/FIN today. On the K70 hill were 22 boys and a girl competing against each other. The only female starter was Mariana Högberg from Sweden.
Next to the big competitions of the former weekend, f.e. the FIS Ski Flying World Championships in Vikersund/NOR or the Junior World Championships in Turkish Erzurum, was also the FIS-Cup held. In Baiersbronn/GER took two races place, which were both dominated by German athletes.
On February 25th and 27th this year, traveled all ski jumpers of the age-group 1995/96 and 1997 and younger to Žiri in Slovenia. The reason: There were the competitions of the so called OPA winter games held. The most successful teams became Germany and Austria, with two victories each.
In front of their local audience were the Slovenians not beatable this weekend. They showed a strong team performance at this FIS-Cup, which was this time hosted in Kranj/SLO. After Jaka Hvala won yesterday's race, was it today Anze Lanisek, who secured his place on the very front.
Also in FIS Cup competitions took place this weekend. Slovenian Matic Kramarsic secured victory in both competitions in Szczyrk, Poland among 78 jumpers.
The wins of the Ladies Cup, which stopped in Austrian Achomitz last weekend, were gained by Ciara Hölzl and Sonja Schoitsch from Austria in the pupils class. The junior class was won by the German Veronika Zobel at both days.
After a longer break took the Ladies Cup place in Ziri/SLO last weekend. The victories of the pupils and junior classes were gained by Slovenians on both days: Ema Klinec and Manja Pograjc.
The Slovene secured the clear victory both yesterday and today. Besides him on the podium were with Ernest Prislic (Saturday) and Cene Prevc (Sunday) at a time one compatriot and Ulrich Wohlgenannt from Austria. For Rok Justin were these the first victories of the season.
